Ginger Tiger.. Fresh of the Wok

11:43 PM

I always pass the 100 ft road in Indiranagar and every month some new restaurants come up. The Ginger tiger caught my attention because it seemed different and it was Chinese. Normally I do not eat much Chinese food since I have allergy to MSG, so I checked with them and came to know that they do not use MSG flavoring in their food. I finally decided to try it out.

Ambiance - Very nice, calm and soothing. They have outside sitting amongst the bamboo shrubs and inside as well. The place looks rich in its get up and the service is amazing.

Food - Here is what we ordered along with my likes and dislikes -

For starters we ordered Phuket Chilli Chicken, Hot & Spicy chicken and one starter which had fried corn and spinach.
Phuket Style Chilli chicken
Phuket chilli chicken was very different and a must try dish in my opinion. It has a flavoring of coconuts with hot sauces which makes it a unique combination and very juicy and tasty.
The hot and sour chicken was typical run of the mill with no unique flavors

Another veg starter with corn and spinach was also very yummy, I do not remember the exact name of the dish.

For main course - I ordered Lamb pepper gravy which was a very sad dish, the lamb was too hard to take even a bite. The second dish was mushroom based but that was also not nice. The rice and noodles were average.

Location : Besides High Note on 100 Ft road Indiranagar.

Dinner for Two  - Rs 1500/-

Overall the ambiance and service is good but food is at par with any another good oriental cuisine restaurant.
If you go there, do try the Phuket style chilly chicken.. it is amazing - the best chicken starter I have had. Other items on the menu are just above average

Me Enjoying my oriental dinner with family
